Event Tip Odds Explanation

ATP Toronto

25-31 July 2016

Stan Wawrinka E/W 9/1 The withdrawal of Murray, Nadal and Federer leaves the path clear for some other players to make a name for themselves and, based on their improving performances in major tournaments, Wawrinka and Raonic look the best bet. However, Raonic finds himself on the same side of the draw as Djokovic and that makes a final appearance less likely. Wawrinka on the other hand has a relatively kind draw and so a bet on him to finish in the top two looks like a good option.

Chelsea vs L'pool

28 July 2016

Over 2.5 goals 17/20 There'll be a big crowd in Pasadena for this high-profile clash and the teams will want to put on a show for them. Both teams have been showing goalscoring form in pre-season friendlies so far and the relaxed nature of the fixture combined with the desire to please should prevent this from being as tight as Chelsea vs Liverpool games often are. It is also difficult to pick a winner in a game like this so a bet on over 2.5 goals looks like it could be the best option.

B Dortmund vs Man C

28 July 2016

Man City to win 6/4 Dortmund showed what they are capable of with a 4-1 defeat of Man Utd in their last game and now they turn their attention to the Blue side of Manchester. City will offer up more resistance than United, so Dortmund's attack won't quite be as lethal, and they will also know what to expect following United's defeat. With that in mind, I fancy City to do a little better than their rivals and come away from this game with a respectable win.

Domzale vs West Ham

28 July 2016

West Ham (-1) 29/20 West Ham struggled in the Europa League last year, scraping past Maltese side Birkirkara on penalties and then losing to Romanian side Astra. That experience will have taught them not to take things for granted in tricky European away ties and so we should expect a professional performance. The Hammers warmed up well for this game with a 3-0 defeat of Karlsruher on Saturday and can claim a good win if they show the same strength in front of goal.

Aberdeen vs Maribor

28 July 2016

Aberdeen to win 23/20 Aberdeen made comfortable progress in the last qualifying round, winning 3-0 at home and then 1-0 away. That will give them confidence going into this tougher tie and there's no reason they can't repeat the magic. Maribor may have plenty fo European experience but they were unconvincing in the last round and needed penalties to get past Levski Sofia. If the Slovenians perform to a similar level in this game then Aberdeen can take advantage and claim a home win.

Spurs vs A Madrid

29 July 2016

Under 2.5 goals 17/20 Spurs' pre-season campaign got underway with a 2-1 loss to Juventus and now they face an equally tough game against Atletico Madrid in Melbourne. Diego Simeone's side are one of the best in Europe and there is no team better defending. They conceded just 18 goals in La Liga last season and if they can show some of that defensive strength in this game we can expect a low-scoring encounter.

Wigan vs Hull

29 July 2016

Hull to win 11/10 Wigan are still missing several players, with suspensions in particular taking their toll on the side. That's not what you want when you're heading into a semi-final and it gets even worse when you consider the opposition. Hull are enjoying their best season in a decade, are top of Super League after 23 rounds, have lost just three games in the last few months, and beat Wigan comfortably the last time the teams met. Expect another Hull win.

Hurricanes vs Chiefs

30 July 2016

Hurricanes (-4) 10/11 Both these teams claimed huge wins in the quarter-finals, with the Hurricanes beating the Sharks 41-0 and the Chiefs destroying the Stormers 61-20. However, crucially the Hurricanes were at home last weekend while the Chiefs had to fly to Cape Town and back, making recovery and preparation harder, and giving the Hurricanes a big advantage. The Chiefs won by a point when they visited Westpac Stadium in April but it will be different this time around thanks to the advantages the home team have.

Lions vs Highlanders

30 July 2016

Lions to win 4/5 The Highlanders are the only semi-finalists that didn't score over 40 points in the last round, as they scraped past the Brumbies 15-9. That's quite a contrast with the Lions, who are the highest scoring team this year and have averaged over 36 points per game. The difference in firepower could be crucial in this game and even though the Highlanders boast the second-best defence in the competition, they may not be able to cope with the Lions' attack.

Warrington vs Wakefield

30 July 2016

Warrington (-12) 5/6 Warrington's performances haven't been great in the last couple of months but they have still been grinding out wins and that bodes well for them as we move into the most important part of the season. They also boast great Challenge Cup experience, having lifted the trophy three times under current coach Tony Smith. That experience could prove crucial as they come up against Wakefield, who haven't reached the final since 1979 and haven't lifted the cup since 1963, so expect the Wolves to pull through and cover the handicap.

7 Betting Tips for the Occasional Bettor

If you’re not an expert in the field, sports betting can sometimes appear quite daunting. However, fear not because we have a few helpful hints to make life easier for you when you want to place a bet.

7. Take advantage of promotions - It is much less risky to bet with a free bet rather than your own money and there are plenty available to take advantage of. Join Titanbet and straight away you qualify for a generous free bet and then you can get more with our regular promotions. That’s not all because with various moneyback offers, you can sometimes get your money back if things don’t go as expected.

6. Check the teamsheet - It may sound simple but it can make a huge difference. For example, if a Premier League team are facing a lower league side in a cup competition, the Premier League side will be expected to win and the odds will reflect this. However, their priorities may lie elsewhere and so they could decide to rest some key players, leaving an upset a distinct possibility. In circumstances like this, it is possible to pick up some generous odds and potentially big winnings by betting on the underdog.

5. Analyse the form -  If you fancy a bet on horse racing then form is one of the most important factors in choosing a horse. With a quick glance at the form, you can see how well each horse is doing in general, how they perform in certain conditions, and what kind of races they tend to do well in. This can then be used to help you select a likely winner for your chosen race. Form also plays a part in many other sports, particularly when looking at past meetings between opponents and so is not necessarily limited to just horse racing.

4. Get Some Help - With thousands of bets to choose from, it can be difficult to decide who or what to bet on. It doesn’t have to be that way because there are various tools available to help you pick the right bet: you can use some tips from experts such as the ones provided by the Titanbet bloggers above, you can read match previews to see what people expect to happen in an upcoming game, or you can use a feature like Titanbet’s top bets to see what other people are betting on right now.

3. Don’t chase losses - Sometimes bets win and sometimes they lose, it’s part of the fun of betting and important to accept. If your bet happens to lose then it is best to accept it and move on rather than try to win the money back by selecting a new bet with higher odds. If you start choosing bets because the winnings will cover a previous loss, you will probably be ignoring the other advice on this page and not choosing the best bets for you.

2. Look at the Stats - There are statistics for just about every sport all over the internet and they can be invaluable in helping you select your bets. Take football for example. With a quick search you can find out things like the average number of goals a team scores and concedes, how often they score first, how many times they have kept a clean sheet, whether a particular player scores first or last more often, and much more besides. Armed with such information, you can choose smarter bets the majority of the time.

1. Make a budget … and stick to it - Only ever bet with money you can afford to lose and that way you stay in full control and can enjoy your betting. It’s a simple but important rule to follow.
